The Chief Minister of Manipur, Y Khemchand Singh, has reiterated his administration's commitment to aiding the prompt completion of an ambitious railway project intended to connect the capital, Imphal, with India's national railway network.
Stretching 111 kilometers to Jiribam, near Assam's border, the project poses an essential infrastructural advancement. Estimated at over Rs 22,000 crore, it targets a 2028 inauguration. Singh's remarks followed a meeting with North East Frontier Railway officials.
The project aims to bolster Manipur's transport structure, enriching connectivity and supply chain efficiency. Aligning with Prime Minister Narendra Modi's vision, it is set to enhance living conditions and foster state progress.
