India Targets $200 Billion Export Boost in Textile Market Through FTAs

Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh urges India's textile industry to capture $200 billion in exports from expected $465 billion market access via FTAs. Bharat Tex 2026 will serve as a global platform showcasing India's textile chain, attracting over 3,500 exhibitors and 7,000 international buyers.

Textiles Minister Giriraj Singh on Wednesday emphasized the potential for the Indian textile industry to seize $200 billion in export opportunities from the anticipated $465 billion market access opening through Free Trade Agreements (FTAs) being finalized by India.

Spearheaded by Bharat Tex 2026, this initiative aims to create a global platform for domestic businesses, covering the entire textile value chain from fiber and yarn to fabrics, garments, and sustainable innovations. Singh highlighted India's strength in natural fibers, positioning the country as a potential global hub for their supply.

The upcoming four-day Bharat Tex 2026, scheduled to commence on July 14 at Bharat Mandapam, is set to showcase India's textile ecosystem, attracting over 3,500 business exhibitors and international buyers from more than 140 countries.
