According to data obtained under the RTI Act, more than 22 lakh unemployed youth are registered with employment offices across Rajasthan. The Directorate of Employment reveals no government sector recruitments via these offices in the past five years, raising concerns about job opportunities for the state's youth.
The data shows a total of 22,21,317 job seekers, with the majority being male. Jaipur leads with the most registrations, while districts like Jaisalmer and Pratapgarh report the lowest numbers. The data also indicates that Other Backward Classes (OBC) represent the largest share among job seekers.
Despite private sector growth, placements through employment offices remain limited. RTI applicant Chandra Shekhar Gaur calls for activation of these offices. A senior official informs that 'Rojgar Sandesh' is published fortnightly to keep candidates informed, alongside various initiatives and schemes to support job seekers.
