On Friday, the Telangana government unveiled a substantial budget of Rs 3.24 lakh crore for 2026-27, marking an increase of nearly Rs 20,000 crore from the previous year. Key initiatives include Musi Riverfront beautification and further expansions of the Hyderabad Metrorail system.
Deputy Chief Minister Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka emphasized the budget's reflection of comprehensive state development, with significant allocations: agriculture (Rs 23,179 crore), energy (Rs 21,285 crore), urban development (Rs 17,907 crore), and medical and health (Rs 13,679 crore). This budget echoes the government's commitment to constitutional values and transparency.
For the fiscal year 2025-26, Telangana recorded a Gross State Domestic Product of Rs 17,82,198 crore, with a growth rate of 10.7 percent. The per capita income rose by 10.2 percent, reaching Rs 4,18,931, as detailed by the minister.
