In a significant milestone, India's defence exports reached an unprecedented Rs 38,424 crore in the fiscal year 2025-26, marking a remarkable 62% increase from the previous year. This achievement highlights the country's expanding influence in the global defence market.
Defence Minister Rajnath Singh attributed the growth to increased global trust in India's indigenous capabilities. The exports success story reflects the country's advanced manufacturing strength and a self-reliant defence ecosystem.
The contribution of defence public sector undertakings accounted for 54.84% of exports, while private industry delivered 45.16%, showcasing India's collaborative approach to boosting its defence sector.
