A city bus caught fire under alarming circumstances near Gharauda village on Tuesday afternoon, the police confirmed. The incident occurred along Manjhawali Road, within the jurisdiction of Tigaon police station.

Initial findings suggest a short circuit in the wiring triggered the fire, but luckily, the only passenger aboard was safely evacuated by the quick-thinking driver, Manohar. Operating bus number 0909 on the Manjhawali-Ballabgarh route, Manohar was heading back to the Ballabgarh depot when he detected smoke billowing from the engine.

As the bus neared Gharauda village, smoke intensified, prompting Manohar to promptly stop the vehicle and ensure the passenger's safety before flames engulfed the entire bus. Authorities swiftly arrived on the scene following emergency alerts, although the bus was already reduced to ashes by the time the fire brigade arrived. Fortunately, no casualties were reported.
