In a tragic road accident, four individuals lost their lives when a sport utility vehicle (SUV) collided with a state transport bus in Maharashtra's Thane district on Tuesday.

The incident took place around 11:30 am on the Murbad-Ahilyanagar Road at Tokawde in Murbad taluka, according to Sagar Palsule, Divisional Commissioner of the Maharashtra State Road Transport Corporation's (MSRTC) Thane division. The SUV, heading towards Kalyan, crashed into an MSRTC bus traveling in the opposite direction, resulting in the deaths of four people whose identities are yet to be established.

Deputy Superintendent of Police (Murbad) Anil Lad confirmed the fatalities, and the victims' bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. The severe impact left the front of the bus destroyed and the SUV completely wrecked, ejecting its occupants onto the road. Images of the devastating scene have since gone viral on social media.
