Joshi rode a two-wheeler, reportedly without valid insurance and pollution certificates, over a short distance as part of a campaign encouraged by Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

A video displaying the scooter's registration prompted public scrutiny, leading Joshi to clarify that the documents were immediately renewed and that the vehicle belonged to his personal security officer.
