India's Commerce and Industry Minister, Piyush Goyal, has set an ambitious target for the country's export sector, urging stakeholders to aim for USD 1 trillion in goods and services exports this fiscal year.
Speaking at an event, Goyal highlighted the previous milestone achieved in 2025-26 when exports reached an unprecedented USD 863 billion. He emphasized that a significant 16-17% growth, equivalent to USD 137 billion, is necessary to achieve the new target.
This call to action is part of a broader strategy to boost India's global trade presence and economic footprint, positioning the country as a formidable player in the international market.
