India and Canada have established a new trade and investment forum aiming to strengthen economic ties between the two nations. This initiative seeks to foster business relations and commercial partnerships as announced in a joint statement released on Friday.

The agreement emerged following Commerce Minister's Piyush Goyal's three-day official visit and meetings with Canadian business leaders and International Trade Minister Maninder Sidhu. Enhancing connectivity through people-to-people links and business mobility were also highlighted as crucial to expanding trade engagements.

Plans for a comprehensive economic pact center on increasing market access and supporting supply chains. Minister Sidhu revealed Canada's intention to lead a trade mission to India later this year, signifying further commitment to the partnership.
