Adverse weather led to the diversion of four incoming flights at Ranchi's Birsa Munda Airport on Saturday morning, according to an official report. Inclement weather, including rain and thunderstorms, resulted in low visibility that temporarily disrupted air traffic operations.
The state of Jharkhand experienced widespread rain and thunderstorms which caused significant cloud cover. An IndiGo flight from Kolkata was initially diverted and managed to return to Ranchi by late morning, along with another IndiGo service from Delhi. Two Air India flights faced similar diversions, reflecting the challenging conditions. The Meteorological Department has forecast continued poor weather, with further precipitation and high winds expected on Sunday.
