Union Commerce and Industry Minister Piyush Goyal embarked on a strategic two-day visit to Switzerland, engaging in crucial high-level discussions with Swiss officials, aimed at bolstering economic relations and facilitating the India-European Free Trade Association (EFTA) Trade and Economic Partnership Agreement (TEPA).
During the visit, Goyal held productive talks with Swiss President Guy Parmelin, emphasizing the reinforcement of bilateral economic cooperation and strategic alliances under the TEPA framework. The discussions with Parmelin underscored India's commitment to intensifying economic engagement and investment exchanges with Switzerland.
Additionally, Goyal co-chaired a meeting with Helene Budliger Artieda, State Secretary for Economic Affairs of Switzerland, alongside key figures from the Swiss pharmaceutical and biotech sectors. The dialogue aimed at strengthening research, innovation, and investment collaborations in India's burgeoning healthcare and life sciences industries.
