Tesla Debuts New Models in India: Expands Premium EV Market

Tesla has commenced deliveries of the six-seater Model Y L and introduced the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive in India. These models, priced at Rs 61.99 lakh and Rs 50.89 lakh respectively, feature top safety ratings, advanced technology, and significant cargo capacity, catering to India's premium electric vehicle market.

Tesla has officially launched deliveries for its latest addition to the Indian market — the six-seater Model Y L. Expanding the premium electric vehicle segment, this model boasts an impressive range of up to 681 km and accelerates from 0-100 km/h in merely 5.0 seconds, all for a starting price of Rs 61.99 lakh, according to the company's release.

The launch also features the Model Y Premium Rear-Wheel Drive, a new variant anticipated to join the Indian market in July 2026. Priced at Rs 50.89 lakh, this model offers a WLTP range of 500 km and accelerates from 0 to 100 km/h in 5.9 seconds. It promises flexible seating for up to five passengers and a cargo space reaching 2,138 litres.

Both models, built with advanced technology and ultra-responsive motors, have achieved top-tier safety ratings from renowned global safety organizations, including the NHTSA and IIHS in the U.S., Euro NCAP in Europe, ANCAP in Australia and New Zealand, and C-IASI in China. Tesla continues to set benchmarks in safety, performance, and efficiency, positioning itself prominently in India's electric vehicle market.
