Paul Kagame, John Pombe Magufuli’s bilateral discussions include biz, politics, cooperation

President of Tanzania, John Pombe Magufuli and his Rwandan counterpart Paul Kagame had a bilateral discussion in Dar es Salaam on March 7. Rwanda’s Head of State was in Tanzania for a one-day visit and their discussion mainly centred on business, politics and cooperation.
While addressing the press after the meeting, President of Rwanda, Paul Kagame opined that both the countries (Tanzania and Rwanda) would continue working closely as they have worked in the past years in multiple capabilities. The 61-year old Rwandan politician also said that leaders of the two nations and their accompanying delegations covered subjects such as bilateral ties in business, politics, development as well as strengthening the East African Community. He is currently the Chairman of the East African Community.
“We had good talks on business, politics and cooperation which included leaders from the two nations,” Paul Kagame said in Swahili. Currently, Tanzania and Rwanda are working on the Isaka-Kigali Standard Gauge Railway that is intended to shorten logistics costs, enhance trade and ease the movement of people, as reported by The New Times.
