The economy of Rwanda is projected to grow by 7.8 percent in the current year, International Monetary Fund (IMF) revealed recently.
Officials from the IMF have been in the country for the last two weeks engaging officials from the public and private sectors. They came across the Minister of Finance and Economic Planning at the conclusion of their mission in Rwanda, during which they presented their findings to the media.
The economy of Rwanda, as revealed by Laura Redifer, is projected to remain strong in 2019 at 7.8 percent driven by investments flows, continued diversification of exports and continued resilience of the agriculture sector.
Last year, Rwanda’s economy inflated by 8.6 percent surpassing the previously projected target of 7.2 percent, as revealed by the National Institute of Statistics of Rwanda last week.
