Johor Sultan Plans to Set Up Affordable Supermarket

The Sultan of Johor, Ibrahim Iskandar plans to set up an affordable supermarket in Malaysia's southern state. The Royal Press office on the Sultan's Facebook page said they are planning to work strategically with a supermarket giant.

"This supermarket guarantees that it will sell things at prices that are lower by 10 per cent while ensuring quality. This will help the people, especially those with low income, to purchase daily basic necessities at cheap prices." The Facebook post further said efforts to help the people, especially low-income earners, continue to be in the agenda and focus of the Johor Sultan

The common people have been appreciative of the initiatives implemented by the Sultan. In October 2018, he launched an affordable housing project, where a three bedroom terrace house cost as little as US$16,800. Moreover, he pledged financial help and assistance for the havoc caused by the Pasir Gudang toxic waste dumping incident.
