UGC-NET Paper Leak Exposes Institutional Failures: Government Promises Reform

Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan described the UGC-NET paper leak as an 'institutional failure' of the National Testing Agency (NTA) during a press conference on Thursday. The statement comes amidst ongoing controversies regarding NEET and the UGC-NET's cancellation.

Pradhan disclosed that the cancellation was not a rash decision. 'We obtained evidence that the paper had leaked on the darknet and was circulating on Telegram, compelling us to cancel the exam,' he said.

Pradhan also announced that the government intends to form a high-level committee to scrutinize the NTA's functioning and recommend reforms to strengthen its examination process. 'Zero-error testing is our commitment. The panel, which will include global experts, will be notified soon to make recommendations on improving NTA,' he added.
