Bilaspur Students to Explore ISRO's Space Applications Centre

A group of 10 school students from Bilaspur district will visit the Space Applications Centre (SAC) of ISRO and Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad. The initiative aims to foster interest in space science among rural children. Minister Rajesh Dharmani will flag off the students' journey on July 15.

A group of 10 school students from Bilaspur district will get a unique opportunity to visit the Indian Space Research Organisation's (ISRO) Space Applications Centre (SAC) and Gujarat Science City in Ahmedabad, as confirmed by officials on Friday.

The program's aim is to spark interest in science, particularly space science, among children in rural areas of Bilaspur district. Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bilaspur, Nidhi Patel, emphasized the significance of engaging these young minds in advanced scientific fields.

Minister of Urban Rural Planning and Technical Education, Rajesh Dharmani, will flag off the vehicle carrying the students to Ahmedabad on July 15. The initiative follows the inauguration of a space lab last year at a government school in Ghumarwin, which showcased ISRO-developed models. This year's visit is an extension of those efforts, giving bright science students from 10 local schools a hands-on educational experience.

According to ADC Patel, the trip will offer these students an in-depth look at SAC’s work, known for its advancements in communication, navigation, earth observation, and disaster monitoring. The group will also tour Gujarat Science City, featuring India’s largest space museum, an IMAX 3D theatre, energy park, and more.
