Himachal Pradesh Launches Rs 53.21 Crore 'Mukhya Mantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana' to Support Vulnerable Families

The Himachal Pradesh government has introduced the 'Mukhya Mantri Sukh Shiksha Yojana' with an annual allocation of Rs 53.21 crore. This scheme aims to provide financial assistance to widows, destitute women, divorced women, and disabled parents to ensure their children receive proper education and support.
Announced by the Himachal Pradesh cabinet, Chief Minister Sukhvinder Singh Sukhu stated that eligible families with an annual income not exceeding Rs 1 lakh will benefit from the scheme. The initiative aims to cover educational, health, and nutritional needs of children under 18, with a monthly grant of Rs 1,000.
The scheme also offers financial aid for higher education, including undergraduate, postgraduate, diploma, and vocational courses, to cover tuition and hostel expenses. Sukhu stressed the importance of this initiative in preventing child abuse, trafficking, teenage marriages, and drug abuse, while also addressing the needs of children with disabled parents.
