In a sharp rebuke, Samajwadi Party leader Akhilesh Yadav accused the BJP of enacting policies aimed at curtailing educational opportunities for backward classes, Dalits, and minorities. The criticism came following the government's decision to merge government primary schools with fewer than 50 students.

Yadav alleged that the move is designed to prevent these communities from being able to oppose the ruling party effectively. He pointed out that the closures would hinder both education and the use of schools as polling venues, thus affecting voting capabilities.

Highlighting his party's efforts, Yadav mentioned the ongoing 'PDA Pathshala' campaign and condemned the BJP for neglecting education and employment sectors. He asserted that the party's dual-engine governance has failed, leaving students and teachers with no choice but to protest.
