Punjab Schools Adjust Timings Amid Cold, Fog

In response to severe cold and dense fog in Punjab, school timings have been adjusted. Primary schools will now operate from 10 am to 3 pm, and other schools until 3.20 pm, effective until January 21. Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains emphasized the safety of students as a top priority.

In a proactive measure against severe cold and dense fog, the Punjab Government has revised school operating hours across the state, according to officials.

Education Minister Harjot Singh Bains announced that primary schools will function from 10 am to 3 pm. Meanwhile, middle, high, and senior secondary schools will extend their hours slightly till 3.20 pm. The adjustments, aimed at ensuring student safety, will remain in effect until January 21.

Bains asserted that student safety is paramount and instructed school heads and district education officers to enforce the new schedule across all types of schools in Punjab diligently.
