A six-year-old girl from a government primary school in Tumakuru district faced a traumatic accident when her fingers were caught in a door, police reported on Friday.
The incident, which took place in Goolur village, led police to charge school officials with negligence, having failed to promptly inform authorities and allegedly disposing of the severed fingers in a trash bin.
The student, named Chinmayi Devi, was promptly hospitalized and is now stable, although her severed fingers could not be reattached. The investigation continues as officials seek to ensure accountability.
