Rajasthan's Education Minister, Madan Dilawar, revealed ongoing efforts on Monday to fill 6,146 lecturer positions, including 773 dedicated to science disciplines. He emphasized the state's commitment to meeting NITI Aayog's guideline that mandates science streams in at least 33% of senior secondary institutions.
Highlighting a discrepancy, Dilawar accused the prior administration of upgrading over 5,000 schools without adequately establishing science streams, which left teaching positions unfilled. He reassured that current governmental endeavors aim to rectify these gaps by adhering to established norms.
In Churu, six schools have inaugurated science streams under the current government's two-year tenure. One more is pending approval, spearheaded by a proposal from the local MLA. Furthermore, a total of 18 out of 91 senior secondary schools in Churu district currently offer science streams. Recent budget approvals include 99 additional schools slated for stream expansion by 2025-26.
