SP's Harendra Malik to head Lok Sabha panel on govt assurances
Samajwadi Partys Harendra Singh Malik will head the Committee on Government Assurances of the Lok Sabha. A Lok Sabha bulletin on Tuesday said Speaker Om Birla has nominated Malik and 14 other MPs to the committee with effect from March 4. This panel follows up on government actions on such assurances.

Samajwadi Party's Harendra Singh Malik will head the Committee on Government Assurances of the Lok Sabha. A Lok Sabha bulletin on Tuesday said Speaker Om Birla has nominated Malik and 14 other MPs to the committee with effect from March 4. While replying to questions in the House or during discussions, Union ministers sometimes give assurances, undertakings or promises either to consider a matter, take action or furnish information to the House at a later date. This panel follows up on government actions on such assurances. Separately, the speaker has nominated C P Joshi of the BJP to head the Committee of Petitions which will have 14 other MPs. The committee is empowered to consider representations and letters from various individuals, associations which are otherwise not covered by the rules relating to petitions, and give directions for their disposal.
