Outcry Over NEET-UG Paper Leak: Congress Demands Accountability

The Congress staged a protest in Latur against the NEET-UG 2026 paper leak and called for Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan's resignation. They demanded transparency in the National Testing Agency's examination process, following significant academic and financial losses for students. A re-examination is scheduled for June 21.

In a protest that took place in Latur on Saturday, the Congress party voiced strong opposition against the recent NEET-UG 2026 paper leak, calling for the resignation of Union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan.

The Youth Congress and the National Students Union of India (NSUI) were prominent during the demonstration held at Ugyog Bhavan, where they submitted a memorandum firmly stating that the paper leak inflicted severe academic and financial distress on lakhs of students, thereby undermining the trust of sincere aspirants.

They demanded significant reforms in the operations of the National Testing Agency (NTA) to ensure a transparent examination system. This public outcry, which included participation from Lok Sabha MP Shivaji Kalge, underscored the broader issue as nearly 23 lakh candidates registered for the NEET exam conducted across multiple locations, with a re-examination slated for June 21.
