The National Testing Agency (NTA) has prolonged the deadline for NEET-UG 2026 candidates to submit their bank details for a refund of examination fees until June 22. This decision accommodates the approximate 13 lakh candidates who have updated their information following the exam's cancellation amid paper leak allegations.
Initially scheduled for May 3, the NEET-UG exam was called off on May 12 in light of the leak claims, prompting plans for a retest on June 21. No fees will be charged for this upcoming test. The NTA encourages candidates to log into the NEET portal to confirm their bank details, optionally including a cancelled cheque to ensure accuracy.
The NTA announced this move on social media and highlighted that once bank details are submitted, they cannot be altered, emphasizing the importance of accurate data entry. The Central Bureau of Investigation continues its probe into the alleged leak as candidates prepare for the new examination date.
