Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman is scheduled to present the Budget for the financial year 2020-21 on February 1. Medkart Pharmacy's Founder Ankur Agrawal talks about his expectations from the Union Budget 2020-21:
"Despite the widespread rollout of the Jan Aushadhi program by the central government, there is very little adoption of generics due to two primary reasons. One is poor awareness of generics among people at large, hence a significant amount of effort on the lines of Swachch Bharat should be invested in creating a wider awareness of generic medicines, its affordability, and safety. Another big factor leading to the non-adoption of generic is the Non-Adherence of the Doctor/Physician community to write a proper prescription with Molecules. Either an appreciative effort towards those who prescribe generics or a penultimate process to deter those who write branded medicines should be on the anvil to make sure that the grand vision of the Prime Minister is realized."
