Luke Davies to pen script for 'Apeirogon' adaptation

Luke Davies, the scribe of Dev Patel-starrer "Lion", will be adapting Colum McCann's epic novel "Apeirogon" for Amblin Partners. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Davies will write the script for the movie, which is set amid the Middle East conflict.

McCann's book, which was published by Penguin Random House in February, chronicles the unlikely friendship between two fathers -- an Israeli and a Palestinian -- who each lost a daughter to violence and turned their grief into action and activism. Davies had received an Oscar nomination for 2016 biographical drama "Lion", which he adapted from 2013 non-fiction book "A Long Way Home" by Saroo Brierley.

His other credits includes "Candy: A Novel of Love and Addiction", "Beautiful Boy" and Tom Hanks' upcoming western feature "News of the World"..
