The Last Kingdom Season 5 can show Stiorra-Sigtryggr’s children based on novels

The Last Kingdom Season 5 has been provided the green light after its renewal in 2020. Although there is no official release date for the fifth season, still the series enthusiasts can expect it by the end of 2021.

The preparation for Last Kingdom Season 5’s episodes is underway. The team already reached its previous filming spot in Hungary. The avid viewers are quite concerned about the newcomer Sigtryggr and his love interest, Stiorra.

Many fans are wondering if Stiorra and Sigtryggr will have children in The Last Kingdom Season 5. The previous season focused on Uhtred's daughter Stiorra (played by Ruby Hartley) who was taken captive by the Viking Sigtryggr (Eysteinn Sigurðarson). The viewers are expecting to find out if their romance will develop to the next step.

During the end of previous season of The Last Kingdom, Sigtryggr promised to leave Winchester on the condition he could take Stiorra with him. Uhtred unwillingly agreed and both were seen riding off into the sunset together.

According to Express.co.uk, Stiorra is married to Sigtryggr in the novels, so their marriage could take place in The Last Kingdom Season 5. As the series is based on Bernard Cornwell’s The Saxon Stories, they can be seen parenting several children. Unfortunately, they can die during a deadly plague.

A mysterious ‘sickness’ was a main plot point in The Last Kingdom Season 4 and it could come back to wipe out some of the characters in Season 5. One of Stiorra's children is a daughter called Gisela, named after Stiorra's mother, Express.co.uk noted.

On the other hand, The Last Kingdom Season 5’s episodes are expected to follow Uhtred as he feels that his destiny is highly entangled with the future of England. If the previously revealed synopsis is yet to be believed, Uhtred will have to 'face down his greatest enemy and suffer his greatest loss' to achieve his destiny.

"We're faced with that problem now, getting into season five where Uhtred is technically… I think he starts at 54 and ends up at 60 in the books. That's a problem right now because how do we make it look like Uhtred has aged without it looking comical? We're working on it," Alexander Dreymon said.
