Farewell to a Legend: Ch Ramoji Rao's Final Journey

The late media baron and Ramoji Group chairman, Ch Ramoji Rao, was cremated with full state honors at Ramoji Film City. His contributions to the news and entertainment industry have left a lasting legacy. State mourning is declared on June 9 and 10, with the National flag at half-mast.

The mortal remains of media baron and Ramoji Group chairman, Ch Ramoji Rao, were consigned to flames near here on Sunday. The funeral took place with full state honors at Ramoji Film City. Rao, who transformed the media landscape with Eenadu and ETV, passed away on Saturday at the age of 88.

Ramoji Rao revolutionized the news and entertainment industry in undivided Andhra Pradesh and received the Padma Vibhushan for his contributions. His son, Kiron, lit the funeral pyre in a solemn ceremony attended by prominent leaders, including TDP chief N Chandrababu Naidu.

The Andhra Pradesh government has declared state mourning on June 9 and 10, during which the National flag will be flown at half-mast and there will be no official entertainment, as per an official communication.
