Bollywood actor Lakshya, who is riding high on the success of his debut action film 'Kill,' has teased a sequel. The film, directed by Nikhil Nagesh Bhat and produced by Karan Johar, premiered at the 2023 Toronto International Film Festival (TIFF) and featured Lakshya as the protagonist with Raghav Juyal in a villainous role.
Speaking to ANI, Lakshya expressed his gratitude for the audience's support. 'To all the people watching this film, thank you so much. Today is the sixth day of this film, and it's getting a lot of love. Keep this love alive. If you make this film a hit, we will bring its part 2,' he said. Recently, Lionsgate and 87Eleven Entertainment announced plans for an English-language remake of the film.
'Kill' narrates the story of army commando Amrit, played by Lakshya, racing against time and armed adversaries to rescue his beloved Tulika, portrayed by Tanya Maniktala, on a New Delhi-bound train. The remake will be spearheaded by Chad Stahelski, Jason Spitz, and Alex Young of 87Eleven Entertainment, inspired by the original film's intense action and gripping narrative.
Chad Stahelski commented, 'Nikhil delivers relentless action sequences that need to be seen by as wide an audience as possible. It's exciting to be developing an English-language version.' The original film's cast, including Raghav Juyal and Tanya Maniktala, have received praise for their performances.
The original Hindi-language version was released in India on July 5, 2024. (ANI)
