PM Modi Urges Media to Amplify India's Global Presence

Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the Indian Newspaper Society's secretariat, emphasizing the media’s role in serious discourse and India's journey to becoming 'Viksit Bharat' in the next 25 years. He highlighted India's accomplishments in digital payments and stressed the significance of enhancing the global presence of Indian publications.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Saturday emphasized the crucial role of media in fostering serious discourse and supporting India's goal of becoming 'Viksit Bharat' within the next 25 years. Speaking at the inauguration of the Indian Newspaper Society's secretariat, INS Towers, in Mumbai, Modi appealed to Indian publications to strengthen their international presence.

Modi expressed confidence that India will soon achieve the status of the world's third-largest economy, underlining the country's leadership in digital payments. He stated, 'Media makes people aware of their strength. Media’s natural role is to create discourse by discussing serious issues.'

He also stressed the importance of newspapers in the nation's development and encouraged the media to heighten public awareness about the rights and potential of citizens. Highlighting initiatives like Digital India, Swachh Bharat, and Startup India, Modi praised the media's role in making these movements part of the national dialogue, free from vote bank politics.
