Electrocution Tragedy at Theatre Performance in Odisha

A tragic incident unfolded in Odisha's Ganjam district on Sunday, as at least 20 individuals, including 18 children, were injured after being electrocuted while climbing a metal stage during a theatre performance.

The incident occurred in Phasiguda village, with children aged between 8 and 13 years playing on the stage amid rain after the performance. Two additional people were injured while trying to rescue the children.

Currently, the injured are undergoing treatment and are reported to be in stable condition, according to hospital officials. Berhampur Sub-Collector Dheenat Dastangar has ordered an investigation, promising that action will be taken against those found responsible. Additional SP Ramesh Chandra Sethi confirmed a separate police inquiry.
