The government of India and Netflix India have formed a strategic partnership to create new opportunities for voice-over artists, especially women, aspiring to enhance their skills and gain better access to the media and entertainment industry.
The National Film Development Corporation (NFDC) and Netflix India finalized a Memorandum of Understanding to provide training programs under the initiative 'The Voicebox.' This program aims to train artists in multiple languages, including English, Hindi, Marathi, Bengali, Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, and Gujarati.
The initiative will feature structured workshops, featuring guest lectures and mentoring sessions, conducted in seven major Indian cities. Each workshop will admit 30 participants, with a mandate that at least 50% of them be women. Top participants from each batch will get an opportunity to work on Netflix’s special project 'Azaadi ki Amrit Kahaniya,' narrating stories about the Indian independence movement.
