Prime Minister Narendra Modi announced on Sunday that Khadi Gramodyog's business has surpassed Rs 1.5 lakh crore for the first time. He emphasized that the increasing sales of Khadi and handloom textiles are generating numerous job opportunities.
During his Mann Ki Baat radio broadcast, Modi noted the growing pride among people in wearing Khadi products. He highlighted that sales have surged by 400 percent, creating significant employment, especially for women.
Modi also touched on the upcoming Paris Olympics, urging the nation to support Indian athletes, and praised the achievements of Indian students who excelled in the International Mathematics Olympiad. He also discussed the recognition of Assam's Moidams as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and initiatives to combat substance abuse through a new center called 'Manas'.
