Prime Minister Modi Mourns Cricket Legend Anshuman Gaekwad's Demise
Prime Minister Narendra Modi expressed his condolences on the passing of former cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad, who succumbed to cancer at age 71. Gaekwad, a respected player and coach, had played 40 Tests and 15 ODIs for India and coached the Indian team to a runner-up finish in the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Wednesday expressed his sorrow over the passing of former India cricketer Anshuman Gaekwad, acknowledging his significant contributions to the sport.
Gaekwad, who died at the age of 71 after a prolonged fight with cancer, was remembered by Modi for his excellent playing skills and coaching abilities.
In a message posted on X, Modi conveyed his pain and extended condolences to Gaekwad's family and admirers, highlighting Gaekwad's career achievements, including 40 Test matches, 15 ODIs, and coaching the Indian team to a runner-up finish in the 2000 ICC Champions Trophy.
