Karnataka Unveils Pioneering Knowledge Health Innovation Research City

The Karnataka government's ambitious project, 'Knowledge Health Innovation Research-City' (KHIR-City), will be inaugurated on August 23, marking a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country.
The novel city is set to be established on approximately 2,000 acres near the BIAL airport, according to State Minister for Infrastructure MB Patil, who made the announcement on Saturday.
In its initial phase, KHIR-City will span 1,000 acres and attract a substantial investment of over Rs 40,000 crore, potentially generating around 50,000 jobs. The inauguration event will feature notable attendees, including Chief Minister Siddaramaiah and various expert stakeholders, and is poised to draw leading global institutions.
KHIR-City is projected to make a significant contribution to Karnataka's economy while also bolstering exports and enhancing Bengaluru's global standing. The project will house world-class universities, hospitals, innovative industries, and research institutions, setting a new benchmark in the region, Patil highlighted.
