After a historic ten Olympics and 36 years, Nino Salukvadze, the pistol shooter from Georgia, has announced her retirement.
Salukvadze first competed in the 1988 Seoul Olympics for the Soviet Union and made history at the 2024 Paris Olympics by becoming the first female athlete to compete in ten Olympic Games.
Despite the competition intensifying over the years, the 55-year-old has secured a gold, silver, and bronze medal. Her final participation was a tribute to her late father and coach who persuaded her to compete one last time.
