At the time of the accident, which took place in the Malangawa area, 25 pilgrims were on board the tractor. Police report that the accident was a result of the driver losing control while returning from a temple in Bihar.

Patahi Devi, a 45-year-old resident of Chakraghatta Rural Municipality, succumbed to her injuries at a local hospital. The driver remains at large, and police are actively searching for him.
