Rajasthan Aims to Plant Two Crore Saplings on Hariyali Teej

Rajasthan's government plans to plant about two crore saplings statewide on Hariyali Teej under the 'Hariyalo Rajasthan-Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam' campaign. In a massive green initiative, Rajasthan is set to plant approximately two crore saplings state-wide on Hariyali Teej this Wednesday, officials reported.

The drive, dubbed 'Hariyalo Rajasthan-Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam,' will take place on August 7 and aims to enhance the state's green cover substantially. Preps across all 50 districts have been reviewed via video conferencing at the secretariat.

Additional Chief Secretary (Water Resources) Abhay Kumar emphasized the need for the survival of the planted saplings. He instructed officials to ensure geo-tagging and upload data on the 'Hariyalo Rajasthan' and 'Meri Life' apps. The initiative is part of a larger goal to plant seven crore saplings by involving every family by Budget 2024-25.
