Veteran actor Raza Murad has openly advocated for censorship on OTT platforms to protect social and cultural values. In a conversation with ANI, he emphasized the necessity of regulating content, drawing a parallel to airport security measures.
'In my opinion, there should definitely be censorship on OTT platforms. Censorship is like the screening area at the airport. Everything passes through its scrutiny. If you're bringing illegal items, they get detected and stopped. Similarly, the Censor Board reviews films to ensure appropriateness. As self-censorship fails, offensive words and dialogues increasingly influence children,' Murad stated.
Murad expressed his belief that misuse of freedom warrants censorship and legal action against transgressors. The veteran actor, known for his powerful roles and voice, launched his career in the early 1970s. His notable works include 'Ram Teri Ganga Maili,' 'Prem Rog,' and 'Padmaavat' (ANI).
