Gen Z in India: Rising Focus on AI, Cybersecurity, and Career Sacrifices
A recent study, the Quest Report 2024, reveals that a quarter of Gen Z in India are drawn to AI, cybersecurity, and content creation. Despite valuing job stability over entrepreneurship, 43% are ready to sacrifice work-life balance for career success. Financial barriers and gender issues were identified as significant challenges.
A recent study, the Quest Report 2024, highlights the shifting career preferences of Gen Z in India, with a notable inclination towards fields such as Artificial Intelligence, cybersecurity, and content creation. The study analyzed the aspirations and challenges faced by this generation.
Remarkably, 43 per cent of the respondents are willing to sacrifice their work-life balance to achieve career success. This trend reflects a broader willingness to forgo hobbies and personal interests to attain their professional dreams.
The study also uncovered significant barriers such as financial constraints and gender inequality, with two times more women feeling gender impacts their career pursuits compared to men. Nonetheless, over 90% remain confident in overcoming these hurdles to achieve their aspirations.
