Odisha's New Pension Scheme for Freedom Fighters' Families: 'Kutumba Yojana' Unveiled

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced the new 'Kutumba Yojana' scheme to provide pensions to the families of freedom fighters. Marking the Quit India Movement anniversary, Majhi reiterated the state's commitment to honoring sacrifices made by freedom fighters. Key leaders and their contributions were also highlighted.

Odisha Chief Minister Mohan Charan Majhi announced on Friday that the state government is considering a new pension scheme called 'Kutumba Yojana' for the families of freedom fighters. He made this announcement during an event commemorating August Kranti Dibasa, the anniversary of the Quit India Movement. Majhi emphasized the government's commitment to honoring the families of those who sacrificed for India's independence.

Majhi highlighted the significant contributions and sacrifices made by leaders such as Nabakrushna Chaudhary, Harekrushna Mahatab, Viswanath Das, and Acharya Harihar during the Quit India Movement. He also spoke about Laxman Naik's ultimate sacrifice in Koraput for the cause.

The Chief Minister called for a new revolution in Odisha to restore the state's pride and further its development. Law Minister Prithviraj Harichandan, Sports Minister Suryasulhi Suraj, and former minister Suresh Kumar Rautaray also attended the event and paid tributes to the martyrs.
