PM Modi's Visit to Wayanad Highlights Relief Efforts
Prime Minister Narendra Modi will visit Wayanad on Saturday to evaluate the ongoing relief operations and engage with landslide survivors. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is slated to visit Wayanad on Saturday to assess the ongoing relief and rehabilitation efforts following the devastating landslides in the area.
According to officials, Modi will be greeted by Kerala Governor Arif Mohammed Khan, Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, and other top state officials upon his arrival in Kannur at approximately 11 am. He will subsequently undertake an aerial survey of the landslide-hit regions in Wayanad.
Rescue teams will brief him on the current evacuation efforts, after which he will visit relief camps and hospitals to meet with victims and survivors. Modi will also chair a review meeting to receive comprehensive updates on the ongoing relief activities. The landslides, which struck on July 30, have resulted in at least 226 deaths, making it one of the most severe natural disasters to strike the southern state.
