Arunish Chawla Takes Additional Charge as Culture Secretary
Bureaucrat Arunish Chawla has been assigned additional charge as Secretary in the Ministry of Culture. Chawla, who is currently Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals, will hold this role until a regular appointee takes over or until further orders. His appointment follows Govind Mohan's transition to Union Home Secretary.

Bureaucrat Arunish Chawla has been assigned additional charge of the post of Secretary in the Ministry of Culture, as per an official order issued on Friday.
Chawla, who is presently the Secretary in the Department of Pharmaceuticals, will maintain the additional role until the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, according to the release.
The move follows the appointment of senior IAS officer Govind Mohan, the former Union culture secretary, as the next Union home secretary, succeeding Ajay Kumar Bhalla.
'The Competent Authority has approved the assignment of additional charge of the post of Secretary, Ministry of Culture to Shri Arunish Chawla, IAS (BH:1992), Secretary, Department of Pharmaceuticals, upon relinquishing the charge of the post by Shri Govind Mohan, IAS (SK:1989), till the appointment of a regular incumbent or until further orders, whichever is earlier,' the official order stated.
