IT Professional Honored for Brave Act in Hit-and-Run Case

A 27-year-old IT professional, Ritik Vats, has been honored by the Delhi Police for his courageous act. Vats chased and caught a truck driver who fled after hitting a pedestrian in West Delhi's Paschim Vihar. The incident occurred on August 17. The police arrested the driver, and Vats received a reward and commendation.

An IT professional was recognized by the Delhi Police for his bravery in apprehending a hit-and-run suspect. Ritik Vats, 27, chased down and captured the truck driver responsible for injuring a pedestrian in West Delhi's Paschim Vihar.

According to ACP (Traffic) Dinesh Kumar Gupta, a PCR call was received on August 17 at 3 am about an injured individual on the Outer Ring Road. Upon arrival, the police found no eyewitnesses. Soon after, Ritik Vats, a resident of Mohan Garden, called and reported that he had caught the truck driver involved in the accident.

The police arrived at the location and arrested the accused. In a press statement, the Delhi Police described Vats as a public hero for his brave actions. Special Commissioner of Police (Traffic) Ajay Chaudhry awarded him Rs 10,000 and a commendation certificate.
