Vaishnaw assured that the intent is to support rather than hinder the content creator economy. A circulated draft had drawn criticism, particularly from online content creators who found some provisions 'draconian.'

The bill, first presented to the public last November, aims to encourage new technology and content forms. Despite backlash, the ministry plans to publish a revised draft following detailed consultations.
