Kerala Celebrates 170th Birth Anniversary of Social Reformer Sree Narayana Guru

Kerala celebrated the 170th birth anniversary of Sree Narayana Guru, a saint reformer known for his teachings against caste supremacy and social evils. Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and Governor Arif Mohammed Khan paid tributes, emphasizing the Guru's enduring message of unity and brotherhood.

Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, on the 170th birth anniversary of Sree Narayana Guru, recalled the saint reformer's teachings that condemned caste supremacy and social evils.

Vijayan highlighted the Guru's strong stance against caste-based oppression and economic exploitation, noting the relevance of his ideas a century later.

This year also marks the centenary of the inter-faith conference led by the Guru in 1924 at the Aluva Advaita Ashram, which promoted brotherhood and human unity in a divided society.
