The event featured BJP MLA and former minister Punnulal Mohle, Mungeli Collector Rahul Deo, and Superintendent of Police Girija Shankar Jaiswal, each tasked with releasing pigeons to symbolize peace and freedom. While the pigeons released by the MLA and the Collector took to the skies successfully, the SP’s pigeon plummeted to the ground.

Social media user Sachin Gupta shared the video on his 'X' handle, highlighting the mishap. The SP has since written to the Collector, demanding disciplinary action against those responsible, arguing that a sick pigeon should not have been presented for such a significant national event. The bird survived the ordeal.
