Tragic Blaze at Pharma Plant Claims Lives

A flash fire at Synergene Active Ingredients Pvt Ltd in Anakapalli district has resulted in three fatalities. The incident occurred when a chemist and three workers were mixing chemicals unsafely. As of now, one individual remains critically injured, while two others succumbed to their injuries following the fire.

A flash fire at a pharmaceutical company in Anakapalli district has sadly claimed three lives, with two persons succumbing to their injuries, an official confirmed on Monday.

A chemist and three workers from Jharkhand were gravely injured in the incident that took place on August 23 at Synergene Active Ingredients Pvt Ltd in Jawaharlal Nehru Pharma City (JN Pharma City), Parawada.

'Two more injured persons died. One person died last night and another person died today (Monday) morning,' Anakapalli Superintendent of Police M. Deepika Patil told PTI. The sole survivor, Oybon Khora (23), is currently in critical condition.

Lal Singh Poorthy (22) succumbed to his injuries on Sunday night, while the chemist, K Suryanarayana (35), passed away Monday morning, she stated.

Previously, Roy Angira (21) from Jharkhand had died on Saturday.

The flash fire erupted around 12:30 am on August 23 during a mishandled mixing of a chemical powder and a chemical liquid, which generated fumes and static electricity, causing an explosion.

Based in Jubilee Hills, Hyderabad, Synergene Active Ingredients operates two units as well as Jaahnavee Life Sciences in JN Pharma City and employs approximately 600 people.
